The modern mining operation relies on several central OT application servers that support fleet management, production monitoring, and operational visibility across the site. These systems are critical to maintaining continuous production and coordinating field operations. The OTSC continuously monitors the OT network and supporting infrastructure, enabling early detection of performance anomalies and service disruptions. The OTSC works with clients to develop a major incident management plan, whereby in the event of a P1 or Major incident, all the relevant stakeholders are alerted and brought together to drive restoration of services as promptly as plausible. During routine monitoring, the OTSC detected a sudden loss of connectivity and service response from a critical OT application server cluster, impacting the availability of production monitoring services. The incident had the potential to significantly affect operational visibility for dispatch and site supervisors, creating risk to production continuity. Immediate coordination across multiple stakeholders was required, including site operations, infrastructure teams, OEM vendors, and application specialists.
